Don’t Panic: Roissy Is Still With Us

A minor hysteria ensued yesterday when roissy.wordpress.com was deleted. All the content has been reconstituted at the more-difficult-to-spell heartiste.wordpress.com, completing a series of name changes going back to early 2010 from Roissy/Chateau to Citizen Renegade and finally Heartiste.

Within the so-called Manosphere, Roissy’s brilliant writing talent and willingness to say whatever he thought needed to be said has made him an iconic figure without equal. Unfortunately, it’s clear from both the writing itself and hints dropped in posts that the man himself is not penning many/any of the material these days. For my money, the real Roissy’s best stuff is 2008 and 2009.

Now if only someone could explain to me his banner picture…

  1. You’ll need to watch “The Story of O” to understand the banner.

  2. Roissy deserves some kind of award for all the good work he’s done. I truly believe he makes the world a better place for men and women.

  3. Due to this very event, I’m in the process of trying to find a utility that will turn a website into something readable offline (preferably PDF). Citizen Renegade is too valuable to be lost to some freak accident/hack/whatever. Plus it’d be good for all of us to have copies of our blogs in case something happens to WordPress.

Now if only someone could explain to me his banner picture…

IIRC, it’s a scene in the Chateau from the movie the Story of O.

  5. My Name Is Jim

It’s not pdf, but I use Httrack. It can copy a blog onto a flas drive which you then browse with internet explorer like the regular site. Reminds me I have to get a move on and get to mirroring the rest of my faves.

  6. My Name Is Jim

The size of most manosphere sites is reasonable on the archive, if I remember right The Private Man came in at about 870 MB. There’s room for quite a few on a good 32 GB flash drive which can be had for about 80 bucks. All bets are off at what would be needed for a Roissy mirror though.

  7. @Jim – Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll check it out.

Like teaching guys how to pump and dump and disrespect women? BS. Badger Hut and Dalrock are the cool and beneficial guys, and even Athol Kay (who occasionally gives manipulative advice) has done far more real GOOD to relationships and real love.

  9. Jennifer,

    Athol doesn’t give manipulative advice.

    On Roissy,

“Like teaching guys how to pump and dump and disrespect women?”

There are some women who don’t deserve respect (just as there are men). What do you propose?

  10. How about avoiding them? Objectifying the people you want to sleep with is a bs and cruel tactic. And yes, sometimes Athol has proprosed something along of the lines of a mental game with a spouse.

yeah, it was pretty clear to me as well that a lot of the writing this past year wasnt the original author. The cleverness was very diluted and the bigotry was at an all-time high. It was always there, but the level of it caught me off guard a few times…

  12. Banner Pic:
In the movie ‘The Story of O’, in the opening scene we see a woman being driven to a secluded ‘Chatteau’ in a taxi. Just before arriving, the woman’s boyfriend instructs he to remove her panties. She willingly obliges and is treated to the warmth of the leather seat on her now bare private parts. And so…the story of ‘O’ begins.

Note: To the women who will now send me hate mail, the Story of O was written by a woman. No man was involved in the creation of this story at all. What does that tell ya??
